The academic program at Lord Stirling meets New Jersey core curriculum standards, and includes reading, math, language skills, science, social studies, and physical education. Social skills education is provided individually in natural settings when needed.
Individual academic goals are set for each student and curricular modifications are individualized to suit the student’s need for remedial work or readiness for an accelerated curriculum in particular subject areas.
In accordance with brain-based learning and teaching strategies, student assessments seek to help them understand their own learning styles and preferences, monitor and enhance their own learning methods and processes, and rationally grasp their own progress.
If our students choose to continue their education at the university level, we provide exposure to and interviews with college admissions counselors and assistance with SAT preparation and college application process.
